How would you send a gun back to the manufacturer for repair?
Like if I buy a Hi Point C9 with a broken rear site and missing safety switch for a very very good deal. How will I send it back to Hi-Point for there no questions asked, life time of the gun warranty? I wouldn't want to walk into the post office with it. Even it was in a case and locked, which raises the question of Hi Point breaking off the cable lock and my being out of a cable lock. Also a post office employee or other customer seeing what I have and freaking out or stealing it. I could go UPS or FED EX but they have been known to steal guns being shipped. Also what happens if it gets stolen? I'll be liable for it it gets stolen and a crime is commited with it, right?
My understanding is if the gun is already bought and legally owned by you, you don't have to go threw a FFL dealer. It is already your property, and you already cleared a background check to own it. I heard people sending a gun off to the company for repairs and having sent right back to there front door all fixed up.

Contact Hi-Point for shipping instructions. I had a Smith & Wesson pistol that had to go back to them for service. Smith & Wesson mailed me a Fed-Ex shipping label already filled out and I just had to put the gun in a box, stick the label on it and drop it off at Fed-Ex. After it was fixed, S&W sent the gun via Fed-Ex directly to my house. It is perfectly legal and very easy.
As for liability if it is stolen, The shipping company would be liable if it was stolen as long as you followed the shipping instructions. You should also make sure it is insured when you ship it, then if anything does happen your gun will be replaced.

I actually had a busted Hi-point and sent it back in.. (With Hi Points this will happen alot). Anyway, I spoke with a representative and you just take the gun apart and mail it in. I asked over and over because it seemed illegal to mail a gun in the mail but apparently they have some deal with the goverment.. they will fix your gun and send it back to you with a free mag.. Call Hi-point just to make sure nothing has changed anyway. Also don't worry about people stealing your gun. Its a hi-point. people send gold and silver bullion in the mail that's worth tens of thousands of dollars all the time without problem. Insure it if you wish..

Call Hi-Point and ask them how to ship it and where to ship it. I can't imagine being liable if a gun is stolen from you that you are liable for damage that another person causes with it. I don't think you are liable if your car gets stolen.

I sent a rifle to Winchester for repairs. No FFL needed. I just took it to the post office and mailed it USPS with insurance. No problems. Simple.

You may ship it to the manufacturer and they may ship it back to you. You do not need an FFL to ship it for you.
Box it securely in a well-padded and tough box. Do not put anything on the outside of the box that indicates what is in it.
Send it to the address listed for the gun here. http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/contact/contact.ht... Two of the three do not include firearms in the address. For the other you could put "Iberia FA" instead of firearms.
I have used FedEx to ship firearms. That is who the CMP uses to ship M1s to me. I have shipped firearms to the manufacturer with them. Just take it to the shipping counter. You do not need to tell them what is in it.

the warranty only applies to the original purchaser.
you can contact hi point customer service and see if the warranty applies to you.
if it does ask them how to ship it, they'll explain in detail. it does not require an FFL to ship it to the factory. you should ship it in a hard case with insurance.
Source(s): hi point c9 owner, visit hi point firearms forums, learned about limitations of the warranty (it only applies to the original purchaser) on the warranty card that came with my gun. hi point firearms forums has more info you may need about shipping the gun to factory. - zipperLv 710 years ago
UPS or FED-X If you try the post office you could have the FBI paying you a visit. Or talk to a local dealer, many of them will ship guns back for customers.

If the gun remains below assure and the wear and tear and tear is roofed by technique of the words of the warranty, then you truly pay for purely the cost of delivery it to the producer. in the different case, you pay for the completed cost of fix.

I've always used Fed-EX. You can get insurance on the package if you wish.
They will ship it back to you, but you have to be home and sign for it.
