My cat is always hiding in my sisters room?

how do we get her to get more used to us? we had her since she was about 6 months sometime around February or March same time we got our bunny. she's always hiding in my sisters room behind the dresser or in the closet. she only comes out during the night or when she's hungry. sometime she comes out during the night or when my sister is in the room while the door is closed.

Is there anyway we can teach our cat that its ok to come out more often?

The addition to your family may have set her over the edge and caused a lot of stress that she can't handle. Try spending one-on-one time with her, coax her out of her hiding spots, and try to pet her and speak soothingly to her with the door closed.

Have your cat and bunny actually met each other? It may help to have the person your cat feels safest with (perhaps your sister) hold your cat, bring in the bunny and let them sniff each other and get to know each other.

Another option is to get one of those stress-relieving pheromone devices. You can get a plug-in and they do work very well at relaxing stressed out cats. Talk to your vet and ask them what they recommend.

You could try to block your sister's room from the cat if you don't want to do that move the dresser were the cat can't go back there and shut the closet door.

And go in your sister's room and give the cat attention at least two times a day.

    I hope that helps

I presume the cat reaches out to your sister, when your sis is pre-occupied with something else. Try sitting in her room, with or without her.Kindof ignore the cat, but talk in a high pitch, say, 'here kitty kitty kitty kitty' rapidly. I dont know why, but it never fails. Good luck! Also cats are non immune to mental illness, sorry, just thought I,d add that. Good luck, again.
