Do top wage earners deserve more tax cuts?

Over the past 30 years top wage earners, Ceos, Hedge Fund Managers, etc, have doubled their share of the nation's income. Republicans are clamoring to give them yet more tax breaks while they are paying some of the lowest rates in history. Do they deserve more tax cuts?

Absolutely not. Corrective measures need to be taken to wipe out the disproportionate gains the top 1% have made over the past 30 years. A far more progressive taxation system is vital.

They deserve to pay the same taxes every one else pays on earnings. More importantly, how is the tax money being used. If we fund billions of dollars in private companies as political favors (Solyndra, Evergreen, Fisker, AIG, Kaiser.....) then how would taxing the rich even more help Americans?

They receive a salary and not a wage. They should lose all loopholes including charitable gift exemptions. The CEO of McDonald's Restaurants should pay the same tax rate as a burger flipper.

Can't see any reason to take more of peoples private property, in this case capital, which they have worked for, and give it to those that didn't have the fortitude to earn their own.

And the NY Slime is NOT a credible link.

The Bush Tax Cuts have been a disaster

Rich people actually pay more taxes than anyone else does. The problem is that the poor people don't think that they pay enough, that's called jealousy.

By the way, If you have any hopes at keeping your job you better hope they do get some tax cuts.

most of the people you cited dont earn wages. They make their money by collecting windffalls, capital gains, dividends and what not.

Source(s): but top wage earners definitely DO deserve to pay less in taxes, yes.

Taxes are supposed to be used to run government, not give people money that others earned.
