Besides wood, what type of fuel can be burnt in a wood stove?

I don't know where to buy wood. Can I use something instead of wood?

Wood stoves are designed to burn only wood. Burning wood can keep your stove performing well and cleanly so you'd better burn seasoned wood. If you find nowhere to buy wood, you can get wood pellet to burn.

Other than peat, no. Its a wood stove. Some suppliers do "logs" which are basically compressed sawdust and these work well. If you get a multifuel stove these can handle the higher temperatures from coal or coal derived smokeless fuels. But these are fossil fuels and most of the point in a wood stove is that wood is a renewable resource.

Wood is widely available - why not use Google ?

People sell wood beside the roads here.

Looking in the ads in a newspaper can find some wood. Then compare prices.

Or ask clerks that work in the stores where you can buy fire wood.

Source(s): There are some man made logs wrapped in paper in grocery stores and other stores.

Straw briquettes or you can buy one of those gadgets that turns old newspapers into briquettes.

That aside why not burn wood? If you go online to www.certainlywood.co.uk and enter your post code they will tell you who your local supplier is.
