Has the US reached such a sad state that you win elections by promising to take from one group and give to?

When the government is given the power to take money and distribute it elsewhere, that's going to be the focal point of the election. Who's getting the money and who is losing it.

everyone that fails in life is guaranteed a welfare check. it's wealth insurance. you don't like it then don't apply for it.

if you have an option of being poor and hungry and poor and feed which would you vote for. it's not like people are offered lucrative jobs but turn therm down for food stamps. it's an option of scrubbing toilette to feed your family or apply for a handout. I've noticed republicans hate government charities. we've had to rely on the kindness of strangers and it didn't fix any problems. on t he other hand. now poor people have refrigerators, microwaves, cell phones, and educations. why is that a bad thing?

Is that the GOP stance right now. Give to the rich and they will provide you with jobs?
