Well, there are quite a few points you should "own", lol! ;D
~Know your hair facts. Know how to handle different hair types.
~Be able to use and identify different styling products; have the ability to use these to please your customers.
~Be patient. I can almost guarantee you that one day some kid and his mom will come along and the kid suddenly doesn't want the cut anymore and puts up a tantrum. Also, patience is needed with customers who can't decide what they want.
~You should have the basic knowledge for sweeping since hair often needs to be sweeped from the floor.
~Skill is always nice, too! Practice makes perfect.
Basically, a successful hairstylist needs to be thoroughly informed and patient.
