The excess will burn off. If its way over take it back. If you dont have time, you can take a pan and just loosen the oil filter a couple of times and lower the oil level yourself.

take it back, ask them to look at it, and just be sure that they actually fixed the problem. There is a set number of quarts your car will hold, and they've got a system that tells them that. If you have the problem again I would just switch to a different location or service center.

I used jiffy lube for quite some time until a machanic shop opened up in the same parking lot as my work. I never had a single problem. Always got the early bird special on my way into work.

Return to Jiffy Lube one LAST time and have them drain the excess oil.

Never return, in fact never take your car to any of the franchise type auto service places, or dealers for service.

Both charge too much and the franchise places in many cases don't even employ mechanics.

Find a good, independent mechanic that you can trust and give him all your auto service business.

Oil does expand as it's heated, but it should not expand that much. I'd go back and politely explain your concerns to the manager of the Jiffy Lube shop - I rather suspect he'll be grateful for the information because it indicates to him that he needs to refresh his staff on proper procedures...and he'll probably apologize and have sufficient oil drained to ensure your vehicle is not damaged.

It would have to be at least a quart and a half over to cause real harm.

I have to ask, did you wipe the dipstick clean and then check again? If so and it is still reading high, then yes take it back right away.
