While I am a Christian, I do not believe in celebrating Halloween and I did not well before I became a Christian.

While there is no real pagan celebration, it is just an excuse for children to get something for nothing, costing their parents a small fortune to get the a costume for this one night.

I am against all celebrations of this nature, not because of Christianity, just the stupid waste of money.

Christmas and Easter have been turned into commercial holidays and not as they should be a time to remember and celebrate Christ. Christmas decorations have been on sale here for over a month now.

That I am rescued from 'death unto life'. I can think of the direction those folks

are going in, and I think we see those spirits and what they represent. The bible

indicates we were part of that that 'wrath' at one time. Imagine! Rescued. Imagine,

    redeemed?

One time, many years ago now, I was in Hawaii for Oct. 31st, on my own for a while.

The whole place was going out. I prayed about this and thought 'how am I most

powerful, effective?' Is it saying 'No' and being seen as a 'goody goody' or something else?

I prayed to be led. I went to 'Saver's' and found a 'costume' ...all in 'red', good 'devil's color'

I think. I called myself 'Tanta' short for 'Tonto' and I emulated the female for the

    Lone Ranger's sidekick.

People all wanted to take my picture, they were so excited. I witnessed to many.

And on the main street where I went? All the ghouls, ghosts, skeletons, 'freaks'

went way over to the other side of the street avoiding me. The angels, the little

children, the little boy pirates, the sweet children were separated, all over with me,

    laughing, talking to me.

This year? No. I got in prayer, 'nada'. I won't be doing this this year. But the

Holy Spirit can and will move us according to what is best. It remains a wonderful

memory for me, how I was led to 'OVERCOME evil with good'. So, we pray,

    we are led.

Not halloween and that's for sure. Folk can be so naive, and not care about fundamental origins.

One of the biggest weapons in Satan's arsenal is his subtlety. Just because things cannot be seen with the naked eye doesn't mean they don't exist. Isn't it strange, people refuse to accept that Jesus and His disciples had to deal with these entities, and take authority over them. Even Christian teaching has fallen short in many areas - this being one of those areas. If God tells us that we wrestle with these entities, then God means it, and He says it the way it is - regardless of the silliness of parents. A parent can understand that telling a young child to stay away from the waters edge (because they know the possible calamity), and yet those many same parents not only allow, but actually encourage their children to play around the perimeters of witchcraft. Satan knows fully well that he has to make his projects palatable to the naive, and because he does have wisdom (although perverted), he is having success even among Christians - it is indeed time for those who should know better to wake up, and listen up. Of course the secular profit makers are stocking up and rubbing their dirty little hands together, as the dollar signs role before their eyes as a one-armed bandit, and hoping for this years jackpot. What parents who are naive don't understand is that there is a spiritual jackpot at the end of play, and Satan and his minions are pulling away at the handle of misfortune.

Nothing, however, Is there anything evil about a Christian dressing up as a princess or cowboy and going around the block asking for candy? No, there is not. Are there things about Halloween that are anti-Christian and should be avoided? Absolutely! If parents are going to allow their children to participate in Halloween, they should make sure to keep them from getting involved in the darker aspects of the day. If Christians are going to take part in Halloween, their attitude, dress, and most importantly, their behavior should still reflect a redeemed life (Philippians 1:27). There are many churches that hold "harvest festivals" and incorporate costumes, but in a godly environment. There are many Christians who hand out tracts that share the Gospel along with the Halloween candy. The decision is ultimately ours to make. But as with all things, we are to incorporate the principles of Romans 14. We can’t allow our own convictions about a holiday to cause division in the body of Christ, nor can we use our freedom to cause others to stumble in their faith. We are to do all things as to the Lord.

Nothing. God certainly doesn't want us involving ourselves with Satan's antics. When I lived abroad, many children were injured because evil "TRICKS" were played on them with glass being put into apples, and razor blades in candy bars and poison being injected into candies and chocolates. In addition, one little straggler was kidnapped and sexually abused and murdered; so the following year I put a table outside and when all the children came up asking for candies for "Trick or Treat" I told them all about Jesus, explained how evil the festival is and how the Devil is behind it all, which is why children were injured and killed previously; I explained to them that they had no protection from God if they involved themselves with Satan's festivals and it didn't change anything if they dressed up as angels instead of witches, and gave them all some Christian paraphernalia such as a pencil with a scripture verse printed on the side etc.

I don't know if it was effectual in any way but it was the only thing I could think of to turn around for good what the Devil intends for evil every year on Hallowe'en, twisting the minds of children and getting them involved in Satanic practices early in life. It's evil, wicked and unnatural

A Christian should be celebrating each new day as a gift from God. In that sense, I shall (if still alive) be celebrating this new day as one which the Lord has made and in which I should rejoice and be glad.http://bible.cc/psalms/118-24.htm

One thing I shall be glad about is no longer being on the side of the Atlantic where people keep wishing you "Happy Hallowe'en". This is a pagan festival and has no part in my life. Our church is having a party the evening before to celebrate All Saints Day (somewhat prematurely) and I eagerly signed up to help.

Nothing I will be in my house praising the Lord for all that He has done and telling the devil he does not win but he is a loser.

    I do not celebrate halloween.

    I celebrate Jesus.

many churches have harvest night and have hallelujah night and have costume parties but no one wears ghosts or witches or devil costumes but good wholesome costumes.

I am sure the world would not approve but the flesh always sides with the devil on most things.

    ((Carl))) good question

nice to see you on the board

  • Just that it's another day to live in worship to my God. I won't be doing anything special. It will be the same old same old...laundry, cooking, car pooling, mending scraped knees, wiping a tear or two, dishes, dusting, chatting with a friend, etc et, but it will all be done in peace and joy because He not only lives, He lives in me!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
