The problem is ONE person isn't responsible, it's the culture of paying bankers big bonuses for taking big risks, and the wars that followed the attack on the WTC.

That "someone" starts with a gullible electorate.

For too long, politicians have been promising bread and circuses in return for votes, all financed by loans to be paid by future generations.

The idea of buy now, pay later has resulted in staggering loads of debt and no money left in the kitty.

So look around.

Take a hard look in the mirror.

We are all part of the problem

And we all need to be held accountable

Diddums @Ford Prefect, the banks and the city lobbied to be free to run their own business so that makes Brown responsible but only for trusting they knew what they were doing. The present regime aren't doing much to rein them in either. If you want to point the finger at politicians consider Regan and Thatcher, they started the band wagon rolling.

The last government allowed the banks and the city to be irresponsible. Brown should be shot.

The greedy and irresponsible banksters have caused the mess we are in.

Barney Frank should be in jail .
