I have green mold growing inside my hot water heater? how do i get rid of it?

I don't have a lot of money to get a new one and i dont have a stove at the place im living at now so i need this hot water heater to keep me alive when im at school! Please tell me how to green rid of the green mold?

Electric kettle heater which i called my hot water heater because it heats my water!

    If you can SEE inside of the water heater, if should have been replaced DECADES ago. What you need is someone that knows what you have mold in, because it is NOT your water heater.

    When your kettle boils, it should kill off the mold, so I don't see how you keep it growing. You could always dose it with some bleach, let it sit for a few hours, then dump it out and rinse the kettle out several times to remove the excess bleach.

    how do you know there is mold inside your water heater?
