How does the report abuse icon work?
I asked a simple football question and it was deleted because someone reported it, I filled out the appeal thing but was wondering how it works. My question "If you owned the Colts and ended up with the first draft pick, what would you do?" How is that offensive? Does someone actually read my appeal? If I'm reprimanded for a question someone doesn't like, does he pay a penalty for reporting abuse for something that is obviously not abusive? Maybe he was a Colt fan that took offense that someone would suggest the Colts would have that bad of a season, is that an acceptable reason to report abuse?

It's not offensive at all, but it's still a violation. A question (or answer) doesn't have to be offensive in ANY way for it to be a violation. Your example would be considered a chat violation. There is no right or wrong answer. Asking what people think is considered chat. A question must be seeking specific information or knowledge. You made up a situation, and asked what people would do in that situation. Sorry. And yes, appeals are read. It can take a while, but since your question actually was a violation, you won't win the appeal.

Possibly reported for chatting. All it takes is 2 "trusted" members in rare occasions only one to report a post and the bots remove it. As to why your posts were reported without details that's impossible to say. Sometimes a post may seem very innocuous but can still be a violation. This may help you in the future. Here are four very common violations .

Questions must be advice-seeking and /or knowledge-worthy.

There are however trolls out there who report most anything. If you feel you have been wronged you should appeal.

Take out all words like " I, me, mine, you" and you won't have any more questions deleted. Those words can be seen as chatting.
