How to find a singer at my highschool? *Musicians please!!*?

I finally found a band and its starting to come together however ironically we're missing a rather important part of a band; a singer -_- Well, how would I go about finding said singer? I was talking with my band and they gave me a couple of good ideas saying "Why don't we put up posters?" Another person said to hold auditions. I'm thinking we could do both of those, however where and when is a bit of a problem. We were looking for a girl singer, but since were all guys asking them to meet up pretty much anywhere outside of school is a little suspicious. Especially since we don't really even know them and vice versa :P It's sad but that's the kind of reputation my school has ^.^" So I guess I would have to ask the school if it would be OK to borrow the Gym after school for like an hour...Something is telling me they aren't gonna be too happy about that...Anyway, do you have any suggestions? If your in a band already, how'd you get a singer? If you are a singer, how did you meet with the rest of your band? Also, any suggestions about where to start (as far as a band) would be appreciated but aren't necessary. More importantly, how can I get a singer in the band? Thank you!
