Is This a good mile time?

today i ran 2 miles in 17 min im 5'11 170lbs run 2-3 times a week is that average or pretty good? also today after my run i was walking back to my house and both my front and rear thigh muscles tightened up and it felt weird and sore any idea what that could be?

    Hi.2 miles in 17 minutes is considered average.About the whole muscle thing it could have been a cramp in the muscle or you twisted it in a funny way. It could have also have been from running too.

    That's a fairly good time for someone just running to workout, if your trying to be competitive then it's not very good. I'm in high school and I usually take last in 2 mile races when I run an 11min

    It depends on your age. It is good for a 90 year old, but not very good if you are younger. My grandfather is 65 and he can do 2 miles in less than 15 minutes. Your muscles are just sore from exercise.
