Why don't people follow the do not call list?
I am getting sick and tired of people calling on a daily basis. We have registrered all of our phones on the do not call list and still get calls. The real anoying part is the recordings which call and then say at the end press the button to be taken off the list. Isn't that the reason the list is there in the first place??? Also, when you finally are able to talk to someone they just hang up on you. I file a complaint each time but this still happens. I know this is just a rant, but I was just wondering if anyone feels the same way I do?

The "do not call" list is a good idea in theory, but in practice, has a few big flaws. For one thing, it's only updated every few months, so once you sign up, you can still be called by telemarketers for several weeks until they input the updated list. For another, you have to re-register for the do not call list every few years to stay on it. In the meantime, file complaints about the sales calls you receive, and tell these people NOT to call again--if you simply hang up, they'll just call back.

By answering these calls it only verifies there's a person on the other end and they will continue. Your only option is to not answer any call from an area code you do not recognize.
