  • Does anyone believe Romney actually received less votes then McCain?

Call me crazy, but I just need help with this question. In looking back at the 2008 election and this election, I don't think there is one person who would say this campaign was not run better than 2008. Im not saying Romney was a great candidate or won the election. Heck, he was probably 5th on my list of people I would have liked to see on the ticket. But I am saying that if you look at the voter enthusiasm and intensity it was there for Romney. He was getting the crowds, he was getting the numbers, he was getting the donations, and there was a general attitude that Romney was going to win the election. None of this was seen in 2008. So take this into consideration of the lack of people who voted for Obama in 2008 going back to McCain. So with all of this plus the record Obama had, I just can't figure out how Romney didn't gether the votes for McCain. The early voting stats and the reports during the election were all showing great enthusiasm for republicans.

Again, I know it looks like Obama was able to get his people out to vote. But I just am trying to figure out how/why the Romney voters who were out at the events, donating money, and actively being involved in the elction didn't come out to vote. This just doesn't make sense to me.

  • Why don't people follow the do not call list?

I am getting sick and tired of people calling on a daily basis. We have registrered all of our phones on the do not call list and still get calls. The real anoying part is the recordings which call and then say at the end press the button to be taken off the list. Isn't that the reason the list is there in the first place??? Also, when you finally are able to talk to someone they just hang up on you. I file a complaint each time but this still happens. I know this is just a rant, but I was just wondering if anyone feels the same way I do?

  • Why are people trying to keep the Republican nomination a two person race?

Why does the mainstream media and mainstream republican party keep trying to make this a 2 person or maybe 3 person race? It makes no sense to me due to the fact that each time there is a straw poll, someone else wins it besides Perry or Romney. I feel there are multiple people who would have a shot if there was not a bias in both the media and republican party.

I any of the current candidates could beat Obama and there are 4 or 5 which would have a great shot to do it. I just hope the same mistake is not made and the republicans put up the one who "deserves" it or has paid there dues. We don't need another built up candidate which will lose in the general election. I just feel both Perry and Romney are vulnerable in many areas and they are being propelled by the media so the election will be close. I think they could win, but I don't feel they are not the right people to lead the Country or Party.

  • Romney vs Perry: Who to vote for or None of the above?

Ok, so as a conservative republican, I don't know what to do. You have Perry who I feel is not as conservative as needed on many issues and don't agree with his mandatory vaccinations or his stance on illegal immigration. Romney is too moderate for me, seems like a salesman, and basically lied last night about changing his book to appeal to the conservatives. These are the 2 front runners right now.

So I don't feel either of these 2 are right for the position. I also think this is going to be a repeat of 2012 where we put up a bad candidate (McCain) and look what happened. Who do you feel is the best person for the job. Personally, I like either Paul, Cain, or Bachmann..

  • Why is this administration and the Democrats in Congress against success in this country?

I am by far not who is considered rich in this country. But this is getting ridiculous. I agree we need to have tax reform such as a fair tax or flat tax. But just taxing the rich because they are rich is the wrong thing to do. Doesn't this go against what our country stands for? Why should you let a large % of the population not pay any taxes at all and then continue to tax the people who are successful and basically support the country? How many times does this President and democratic congress want to bring this issue up? Why do they want to punish success? Why don't they reward the people for being successful and make there an incentive to work hard, pay your taxes, and putting people back to work which would make this country great again.

Don't you feel this is a political issue as well? Why didn't the admin and congress put this up when they had total control? Why did they wait until now? It just seems to me the President and democrats in congress know they are toast in the next election. Isn't it the only way they have a chance is to demonize one side and scaring people to vote for them. The past few months seem like they are bringing up issues which they know will not get passed. But in doing this, they will have a way to scare people when it comes to the next election.

  • Are you still going to vote for Obama?

I just want to know if people who voted for Obama will vote for him again. Also, is there anyone out there who didn't vote for him in 2008 who would not consider voting for him? If so, please give some specific reasons.

  • How can anyone support President Obama?

What has this President done for people to support. Is it

    - passing health care which nobody wants

    - sue AZ which is unpopular

    - taking over much of the private sector

    - putting down America whenever possible

    - speaking out against the Supreme Court during his state of the union

    - not knowing what the heck he is doing when it comes to foreign policy

    - not having a clue when it came to the oil spill

    - putting radicals on the supreme court (although it was conress)

    - constantly putting people of race, wealth, and class aginst each other

    - pushing the idea of everyone needs to be equal even if some work harder than others

    - basically punishing people for being successful

and so many more items I could list. I really don't see at this time how anyone could support this presidents agenda. Just look at how he attacks people who speak against him. Just look at how he never bends from his ideals. He never does anything to work with the other party but puts them down when they don't work with him. I just don't understand how he is getting away with what he does. Can anyone help me out and say what he has done?

  • Does anyone believe Harry Reid?

I just saw a clip which had Harry Reid flat out deny that the problem with unemployment in NV was his fault! How can he say this? Hasn't he been in charge of the Senate for years now? Hasn't he worked with this administration to pass unpopular laws for the past 20 months? Don't take me wrong, I don't think he is responsible by himself. But he is the leader of the Senate. They passed several bills such as the stimulus, health care, and financial regulation which was supposed to have solved the problem. But now he states it was from the previous administration. Give me a break. I didn't like Bush as a President, but look at what has gone on over the past 4 years and especially the past 2 years and try to tell me that you didn't have any role in any of the negative things which have happened. But at the same time, he tries to take credit when something good happens. I think it is time for him to be voted out!

  • What is the law on the Senate voting rules?

I was under the impression that once a Senator had been elected, he or she would not have voting privileges. But now the Senator from MA has been voting on several bills. Am I wrong, or is this the way it is supposed to be???

  • How can we trust our government?

Just look at what is going on with our government. Cash for clunkers is a failure, the stimulus bill is a failure, social security is a failure, medicare is a failure, Medicaid is a failure, and it seems like every government program which is out there is either broke or not working. So why should we trust them to run our health care system?

    13 AnswersGovernment1 decade ago
  • Do you believe the President?

It is now being reported that President Obama would consider not having the public option in the health care bill. Does anyone actually believe this? This is what he and the democrats want. This is just a test to see how people will react. On a side note, isn't it sad that is has come to a point where people do not believe what the President is saying? This has been going on for the past several administrations now. But it is sad when our country has gone this far.

  • Where is the outrage?

When are people going to wake up and see the Obama tax plan is a joke. I have been telling people for a long time now this middle class "tax break" was a joke and actually a credit NOT a tax break. Now the truth is coming out and they are admitting that people are going to have their tax rates adjusted and this is no more than an advance on a tax refund or it will force people to actually have to pay at tax time. When will people wake up and see that this tax policy does not work? Where is the outrage? If this was any other President, the media would be all over this

  • Is there a form/place you can fill out to legally not have to pay federal imcome taxes??

I have been reading and researching this and have come to the conslusion that there is not a law which gives the federal government the right to collect federal income taxes. I was just wondering if this was true? and if it is, how does someone get the correct/proper information to move on and try to do this. My whole thing is I want to do this, but only if it is legal within our laws/constitution. I am just looking as a private us citizen

  • getting a bankruptcy off your credit record!?

I am trying to figure out how long it takes a bankruptsy to get off your record. I have read and heard it takes 7-10 years, but is there an actual time frame before it leaves your credit report? Or is there a way after 7 years goes by with no problems you can ask to have it removed??

  • illegal immigration?

why is it when you talk about illegal immigration, people just throw out the illegal part and talk about immigration?? It just drives me crazy when people call you names, put you down, and say all kinds of crazy things when they are missing the point of the whole issue. I don't think people in this country are agains immigration. heck, we are all immigrants and came here to make a better life for us and our families. But its the ILLEGAL aspect that people don't like. Why should people be rewarded for breaking the law? Why should usa citizens be punished, be fined or sit in prison for breaking the laws, but illegal aliens be granted amnesty?? it makes no sense to me. I don't want to hear "they are only here to make a better life for themselves" this is a bunch of bull, if that is true, then why can't they do it the legal way?? We should all stand up and cheer that the people were heard today and the illegal amnesty bill went down in flames!!

  • what does illegal mean??

to me illegal means when you do something which goes against the laws of the country which you are in. When this happens, you are penalized for breaking the laws and have to do some kind of punishment for your actions. Why is it that some people want to let illegal aliens get away with breaking the law, but also be rewarded for breaking the law?? I just dont get it!! I am so glad that by this immigration bill going down in defeat, it appears the american people get this point! illegal is illegal.. If you commit the crime, you must be prepared to do the time!
