Do you recycle or do you throw it all in the garbage?

Question

Do you recycle your garbage, or do you just throw it in the regular trash? We have curbside recycling service, but everything goes into the regular garbage anyway. It's just easier to take the garbage out twice a day, then one bag a day and reycling once a week.

I know "everyone should do there part," but honestly it's just easier to throw it all away.

I recycle, because it helps the earth, and it makes me feel happy when I do something right. You just have to know what to recycle, and what not to.

I recycle as much as possible, and I compost. There is no garbage pickup included in my tax bill in this rural area, so I have to pay a fee at the dump when I take my garbage there, and it saves me money to reduce the amount I throw away.

I should recycle more, but I'm not even sure what day curbside pickup is in my area.  I would like to see more 'drop off' recycling available in my area.
I do take Ni-Cad batteries and ink cartridges to stores for recycling; we read the newspapers online, so no paper involved; and I take hazardous wastes, such as leftover paint, to my area's twice-a-year 'roundup.'

I make reasonable efforts to recycle properly but frankly, my garbage company basically charges me $7.50 per week so, if I'm a little sloppy, they can sort it better :<)
