Kids in church running loose?

We are a very small church, only about 50 members. We have this one family who has 6 kids, from 1 yr, to 12.

The oldest child, a girl seems to be more of a mother to the youngest ones than the actual mom. The dad is more interested in socializing and having a cup of coffee than keeping up with the kids.

These breeders allow their children to run around BAREFOOT like a bunch of hillbillies every week!!

They are the first ones to the fellowship hall and grab & touch all the food before anyone else gets in there. The youngest one is only 18 months and is left unattended all the time.

I have talked to the pastor and his wife about this, but they claim the couple has been approached and they get offended if someone tells them to watch after their kids!! WTH..

I've scolded them and the mother has given me dagger eyes...

Whatever happened to elders being served first?

We have our Thanksgiving party coming up and I dread it, because these kids don't use tongs or a napkin; they grab all the big pieces of everything and then they waste it; they take up 3 tables and leave such a mess for someone else to clean.

Do I have the right to say something to the parents??

I mean, I've never been in a church that allows kids to run around barefoot and unattended...

Update:

gee... sorry I bothered some of you... and to Paul: I do go to church.. did you not catch that, this is where this is happening??!

I guess those of you who bothered to answer have never come across this even in a restaurant??! Or are you the parents of these kind of kids..... hhhmmm

I seem to recall reading a book somewhere that said something like this:

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

I wish I could remember where I read it and what the name of the book is, because as I recall it was a Good Book.

Suffer the little children to come unto me for theirs is the kingdom of God.

Unless you become like a little child you will not enter into the kingdom of God.

That food may well be the best meal those kids get all week have you considered what it costs to raise 6 kids? Regardless of what you think of the parents, DON'T GET BETWEEN JESUS AND THOSE KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with letting your children run around barefoot - au contraire, it's the most healthy for them (it's a pleasure too and cheap and practical for parents on top, so many advantages at once, makes you wonder why there aren't more parents letting their children go barefoot!)

Paul speaks about this sort of thing in a number of places. I don't think the 'elders' are supposed to eat first, but someone should be in charge of keeping order. (I don't suppose you are meeting on Sabbath, so just go somewhere scripture is taught.)

Now, I won't comment on children's behaviour because easy for me to say. But to see a "Christian" woman refer to fellow worshippers as "breeders" and "bunch of hillbillies" really does your church proud.

Nice "Christian" attitude you have there.
