Why do Western women want to drink when it is forbidden for both men and Women?

I agree it is prohibited for Muslim women but not for Christian or Jewish women. There is no prohibition against it in the Old Testament before Jesus and Mohamed so long as one did not overindulge in it to the point of drunkenness. Jesus first miracle was changing water into wine and he took wine at the last supper as recorded. Mohamed came along 500 years later and took a different approach.

who is forbidding us to drink? Westerners by and large are not Muslim. Simple as that. In fact by and large we are not Christian any more.

Edit: My friend I see Muslims smoke all the time, and Islam brings with it facets of Arabian culture. You cannot avoid it. not everyone is in awe of Islam, it does not bring with it any majesty making it special in the eyes of all people. The reason why Westerners are not oft to be Muslims is because our CULTURE is very liberal, and we cannot en masse adopt another CULTURE that is not.

I know, as a western convert to Buddhism, I have to go against my culture in a few ways.

Religions are lifestyles...lifestyles change with social progress...Science and Technology have changed human lifestyle....religions also should change accordingly.
