Birth Control Pill, How many days until a period comes?

Typically takes me 2 days. Well it's been 5+. Would this count as a missed period? Because despite being financially stable and of age & in a great relationship, I'm beginning to panic!

Update:

OOh yes, definitely could be stress. Been extra stressed lately. Just don't want to waste $$ on a test if this isn't considered a "missed" period yet :)

It could just be stress, it usually takes me 4 days. Take a test, it'll make you feel better.

The period on your pill is just withdrawal from the hormones, It isn't a real period, when you are on the pill your period cannot be used as an indication of pregnancy.

Basically the pill works by giving you pregnancy hormones and tricking your body into thinking it is already pregnant. This also means that you will probably show up positive on pregnancy tests because of the hormones in the pill, even though you aren't pregnant (they test for the elevated levels of the same hormones that are in the pill).

You only risk pregnancy if you forget a pill before or after your period week. The period week = 7 days of no hormones.. + forgetting the pill = 8-9 days in a row of no hormones. When you have that long without hormones you might ovulate, which means you can get pregnant in the next two weeks even if you start taking the pill again.

Some girls choose to take 4 packs of pills every 3 months and skip the supplement pills (period week) this means that they are always taking the hormones and never get periods. There is nothing wrong with doing that, it was just believed that girls would feel uneasy about not having periods so they give you "fake periods" when you are on the pill.

If I was a girl I would take 4 packs every 3 months, no periods and no stress if you forget a pill every so often.

You could not get it for a while some women have a normal period while being on the pill some may not get a period for three months and some may just spot a little once a month. It changes depending on the woman. My suggestion is use a condom as well if you are worried wait until you can take a test to be sure and start tracking your period when you get it,because if it is every 3 months I would imagine it would cause some panic when you are used to getting them every month.

If you had any breakthrough bleeding towards the end of your packet it can make your period lighter or delay it a little
