Geometry project help?

I am doing a project for geometry where I need to find my way through a maze using certain slopes. I need to find a point along the slope 3/2 from (7.75,-8.5) with the x coordinate of 10. What is it?

    Answer: Desired point is (10, 11.875) per attached calculations

    Slope = rise / run or Slope (y2-y1) / (x2 - x1)

    Substitute the numbers provided (i.e.: slope = 3/2, x1 = 7.75, x2 = 10, y1 = 8.5)

    3/2 = (y2 - 8.5) / (10 - 7.75) = (y2 - 8.5) / 2.25 ----->

    3/2(2.25) = y2 - 8.5 ----->

    y2 = 3.375 + 8.5 = 11.875

    So, the desired point is (10, y2) or (10, 11.875)

    Note slope = (11.875 - 8.5) / (10 - 7.75) = 3.375 / 2.25 = 1.5 = 3/2

    Good luck getting through the maze
