It's possible that you just ovulated late in your cycle. It does happen sometimes. Have they tested your HCG levels to make sure they are doubling like they should? If so I think you will be fine. Don't worry so much, stress can cause you to miscarry. So just relax and in less than 8 months you will have a beautiful baby in your arms!

Well even though they go by the date of your lmp the baby is usually not conceived until about two weeks later. However, if you happen to ovulate a little later (3 weeks or so) or even more than once in a month (which is how you can end up with fraternal twins) the egg still can take up to a week or more after that to travel to the uterus to implant. So i think in all reality you may be measuring a week behind instead of 2 weeks. From the date of my lmp I was due 3/31 but my US shows me due 2 weeks sooner. I believe that it's because I probably ovulated like right after my period. You can't pinpoint the exact moment of conception so the lmp is really just a good "estimator".

You are as far along as the date you conceived, not your last period. Well in terms it does have to do with your period because that's how they work out your ovulation cycle. That's how they can determine when you conceived, because it would have been when you were ovulating.

I got 4 due dates & it seemed liked every time I went in I was either more further along or not as far along as I thought I should be. I didn't get an accurate due date & progression of weeks until I went in for my detailed ultra sound at 21 weeks. That's when they look at all of the baby's organs & development & when they can tell you the sex. Now not all women have to wait that long but in my case I was moving states & had a lot going on, so I had to wait a couple of weeks.

did they say that was the gestational age or the actual age? There is a two week difference between the two - one goes from two weeks before ovulation and one starts at ovulation. It could be that you ovualted two weeks later than usual as well - and if that's the case, you wouldn't count from the beginning of your last period. It's complicated but basically they count 14 days before you SHOULD have ovulated, as the "start" of your pregnancy and that is USUALLY the start of your period. But if you were to say ovualte two weeks later than usual (or 4 weeks after the start of your period), you would count back two weeks from when you ovualed (which would be two weeks after your period started) and count the pregnancy from there.

Either ways, early ultrasound is very accurate, so I would say you are really only 7 weeks 5 days like they told you. Ultrasounds done at this early stage are generally only off by a day or two, if that. If you want to know, give the dr office a call and they can explain exactly how far along you are. Good luck!
