2005 YU55 asteroid, will not be visible to the naked eye, when it passes at 6:28 pm (U.S. EST) (2328 GMT).
The space rock's closest pass will be off the Pacific Coast of Central America, southwest of Guatemala City, as it travels in a northwesterly direction.
Skywatchers should be equipped with a telescope that has a minimum aperture of six to eight inches (15-20 centimeters), experts said.

Asteroid 2005 YU55 is NOT 1,300 miles long. It's approximately 1,300 FEET in diameter.

It's only 1,300 FEET, not miles, long/wide.
The thing that made Meteor Crater in Arizona was 75 feet in size.
So if yu55 hits us, it'll rattle a few windows.
