Does Target drug test after you've been hired?

If you're involved in ANY sort of workplace accident (even something as silly as running a guest's foot over with a cart) they can send you right away for a drug test.

Most places in fast food and retail have such high turnover rates that they don't bother paying for all those drug tests. I got a job at both Pizza Hut and Kmart without a test. I spent four years at Kmart without a test and without hearing about a single person having to take one. That said, Target is a little more strict than Kmart, and they MAY want to test you. It's unlikely they will, but make sure you're clean up to and including your first week there, after that they won't test you.

Just for reference, the only places that truly randomly test and do so consistently are major government contractors like Lockheed Martin, etc. Not retail stores. Let's be honest, if Wal Mart of McDonalds tested, they'd probably have to fire a third of their employees just for weed.

BTW, keep looking for a new job. Too many kids in their late teens/early 20s get stuck in retail and it's a really bad environment. Not just because "retail/customers suck," but the pay and the experience are terrible, even for a student. Good luck during your time there!

they should have given you one the day they hired you.... my sister used to work there and thats what their supposed to do. if they havent given you one yet then i doubt they will.
