Why do Non-rock/Non-metal fans automatically says that a rock/metal songs are emo/goth?

Because they're mentally challenged and in special ed.

It's because the emos and the wanna be goths are destroying rock and metal. The only proof i need is Asking Alexandria. They're one of the many screamo bands that all sound the same and that emos listen to. Then there's also bands like Linkin Park which sell out to try to be more popular. Rock and metal is slowly being destroyed. That's why I don't listen to a lot of American bands. European bands are awesome because they don't sell out, they're talented, they make good music, and emos don't listen to them so they can't copy off of those bands and make them crappier. Emos piss me off.

It's because people who say things like that are generally not educated in music and have very narrow taste when it comes to music.

I know, right?

It's like they don't want to know what rock/metal is!!!!

I've been mistaken as emo and punk many times.

I used to have pink highlights (just two days ago) and someone in my class said to me "You look like Avril Lavigne". I changed my hair after that!

Because its easier to generalize than to actually do any type of research or insightful thinking.

Because they don't know what good music is because they are hearing impaired so they say mean things about it.

Its because their not listening to Pantera or Slayer.

They are misguided.

Because they are stupid
