Well, im a K-pop fan myself... but I'm not obsessed as she is.. I mean yeah you can go to tge point of liking their culture and shizz but not that much..

For me, alot of people mistake me for a Korean.. (Im half asian)

The only reason I got into Kpop was that since childhood I was surrounded by alot of koreans, so i kinda adopted their fashion,make up style,and language..

But I dont boast about knowing it,, In fact Im even proud that im western hahahaha XD

She probably doesnt know how much some koreans look up to westerns... Tsk Tsk...

Anyway~ Best way to do is tell her to shut the fu** up XD or in korean saaaaay 닥쳐 씨발년아! (dak-chyeo ssi-bal-nyeon-ah) oooorrr just ignore her and forget she is even there!~

Wow... This girl needs a reality check... I love Kpop music, and the Korean culture, but I don't claim to know everything about it. I speak few words of Korean, and I am still learning. She definitely gives subtle Kpop fans a bad name..

I get what you mean. I live in Korea now and when I go overseas people always ask

about Korea and how awesome everyone/everybody is.

The fact is that Kpop and the Korean wave representation of Korea is propaganda (which really is - funded by the government.)

Most Koreans and Korea is not like the way they present it.

That being said I would say let your friend enjoy the Korean 'grass is always greener' wave that's taken a hold of her.

Just be there for her when she faces the disappointment the same way you are there for her now.

It's probably best to correct them and then just grin and bear it. One of the more annoying habits of people unfortunately. On the other hand there is still some degree of privacy acceptable among people who don't know each other well so if they become too nosy you are well within the norms of Filipino social protocol to sidestep and if they are insistent simply shut them down. If it really bothers you that much being mistaken for Korean maybe you should try looking Japanese, Chinese, or whatever. Wear a cap with the Japanese flag, an I *heart* HK or SG shirt, or if you are desperate Hello Kitty memorabilia—*joking*. If you are American speak with a very distinct American twang.

Wow...to be honest it sounds like she is just disrespecting the Korean culture, it's more then just Idols. I, myself am a white girl, but I've also been learning Korean for about a year originally just I could pronounce the food names when you went into Korean restaurants (^_^;) but then you get this passion for learning about Korea, the idols and kdramas are meaningless it's all about the country itself....if I was Korean or now if some chick who probably can't read even 안영하세요 tries to correct me on my grammar, I would flip...I would hate to be in your position. Edit: oh my; I'm a little old to get into the kpop music scene, but I certainly enjoyed being brought up to what is current in this generation of K youth. The music is high-energy, lively beat......made me smile to watch and listen. Thanks for the music lesson. XD

Maybe she is a sociopath and not in a funny way like she could be mentally affected by the Kpop stuff and develop a disorder. So just let her be and ignore her. Just agree with some stuff and if she goes off on you, I recommend you to literally just walk away if you can.
