If I receive a traffic ticket, is there a way to pay it off in installments?

Say I get flashed at a red light and receive a hefty ticket to pay off and I can't afford the whole amount, is there a way to pay it off in monthly installments? If so, how much do the installments usually run? This is my first ticket. I live in California if that helps. Thanks for the info.

idk about ca but in sc they will lower the ticket as long as you show up for your court date. and im sure they will work with you since it is your first ticket.

yes, but the cost goes up. Better to just mail in the ticket, they do still give the 10% discount to mail it in right?

Have you even ******* TRIED to call the court and ask them? They can usually tell you, some fines they will work with you on.
