When God set the first commandment, did He leave room for another god for later?

Did God leave room in His commandments for another god to be our Savior?

No. There is nowhere in the Bible that states this.

Christ was actually in existence long before creation of any kind. He was emanated from the Father from the very beginning.

Jesus is not God. He was sent (volunteered to go) to show us the Truth in the Infinite Father and to lead the Way.

    John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    No, like DUH!

But you DO serve other gods - false gods that you devote your life to.

A god is anything you devote your life to. That is what worship and serving is all about.

It could be your car, it could be your time, or money, or even yourself. These all become gods, and God told us NOT to.

Back in those days, however, people would take a chunk of wood or stone, carve a shape into it, and then worship it as a god.

Even today, there are some religions that have millions of gods, such as the moon, the sun, the wind, the rain, etc. There is also animism and pantheism.

But when God gave that commandment, remember, the Jews had just left Egypt, and in Egypt they saw the worship of 10 different gods, specifically, and Jehovah God destroyed each one systematically through 10 separate and unique plagues. Then, when giving the 10 commandments, He was warning the children of Israel (and all of us) not to go back into idol worship.

The thing is, idols and false gods cannot rescue you from "prison" (i.e. hell) for the sins YOU have committed. They cannot give life, they cannot forgive us, they cannot rescue us from satan or sin, or the consequences of sin. Only Jesus can do all that, so God commanded (for our own good) that we stay away from false gods, idols, and the like.

Furthermore, when we DO serve false gods, they are basically demons trying to usurp God's authority, and they will most certainly drag you into hell after you die, if you are serving them. That is NOT what God wants for you!

If you had bothered to read Ps. 8:5, you would see that angels are referred to as "gods." It says: "For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour. (Bible in Basic English)

Even human judges were called "gods" at Ps. 82:1, 6. Satan is called a god at 2 Cor. 4:4.

However, the Bible makes it clear that Jesus' Father, Jehovah, is "the only true God." (John 17:3)

You need an accurate Bible study big time.

    No He did not.

The opening lines of the First Commandment are

the "Shema" ... always held sacred by Israel, and

upholding the truth that God is ONE.

" Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one "

So the trinity heretics chopped it off the First Commandment.

Jesus is his own father...Jesus is the God almighty of the universe and also is Son of God almighty.

JWs should believe that Jesus is the God almighty or Jesus will torture them in hell.
