Blisters from cantharone treatment?
I had som cantharone treatment on my feet on friday for verrucas. I'm in total agony from them and can't put any pressure on my right foot other than my tip toes. I'm unsure whether to pop the blisters as it's those that are causing my inability to walk - the pressure on them when I put my foot down is unbearable. Searches online leave me baffled as there are two camps - the pop and the not to pop! I need to be able to drive tomorrow to get my kids to school - should I pop them, only the ones completely necessary? Before you say go to the doctors, it's a sunday!!!

Cantherone is the Brand Name for Cantharidin, which is a blistering solution used to treat viral conditions like warts and mollusca and is known to cause very tender skin for up to six days, on occasion. Also there is, as you have noted, sometimes some pain when the skin blisters. The cantharidin causes the skin under the wart to blister, lifting the wart off the skin. When the blister dries, the wart comes off with the blistered skin. When you see your doctor again, the dead skin will be removed with the wart. If the wart isn't gone after one treatment, you may need another treatment. If your blister does not break on its own, do not break it as that is your best protection from infection. If it is uncomfortable, you can puncture it with a sterile pin or needle, or snip it with a sterile scissors, which is a painless procedure. You can sterilize these instruments by holding under a hot flame until they become "red hot." Do not peel off the roof of the blister; it will help to prevent any infection. You will get instant relief after the blister is punctured! For hygiene safety, you could cover the puncture wound with a small adhesive dressing like a band aid.

the salicylic acid cream should work effectively, but freezing is perhaps the most effective. If you have any means to safely cut the dead warty skin off of the bump, do so, and buy some freeze stuff (probably can buy it at CVS). Apply the freeze stuff on and then if it did not blister and form a blue - black blister, you need to repeat in 2 days. If it did form a blister, wait about 2 weeks, and repeat the process. If the wart looks like its gone when you clean away the blood blister, freeze the exact same area again for the same effect. I'd say after the second blood blister, it will go away. If you have multiple warts. Goto doctor or dermatologist and have the freeze it off. the amount of nitrous they sell in those cans is puny compared to how much a doctor can put on it.
