Okay first off I need to say not all torrents are illegal but most are. Torrents are supposed to be used for sharing things but not illegal. Original use but it got into like Movies and that. So like you said some can contain viruses which they do. Now pirating can be a risk. Your IP provider can see what your do and you can get charged for downloading or uploading pirated Movies, games etc. Lately a movie contacted IP provider to catch people who uploaded a movie and quite a few were caught and charged ten thousand but it rarely happens. Hope this solves your question.

I'm pretty sure most torrents are illegal. I don't use torrents so I don't know if they are safe or not.

If you think free is bad then yes. In all honesty no one is going to bust down your door and take you away.

No names, they are good insofar as you do not get a virus, the nerks who write them target these sites
they are illegal and will gradually go the way of Limewire.
