Could I survive SOLELY on the income from being a street musician?

Armed with only a violin/ocarina, I want to travel all over Europe whilst sleeping under the stars. That said, all I need is enough money to eat and drink each day. (About 10-15 Euros/day) From your observations, for the most part, do street musicians draw in the crowd and/or seem to make a decent amount of donations?

Can it be done?

Update:

Chibi Pumpkin:

No, I am a man of nature. Sleeping outside is enough for me.

Old Age? I'm 23.

Wife? No, I have no interest in marriage.

Kids? See above.

Illness? I've never taken medicine to deal with such things as the flu or colds. Not a concern.

;)

If you are really talented you might be able to. Stand and observe street musicians where you are, and watch how much money they make in an hour. Then multiply by the number of hours there are in a day. Or give money to a street musician and see how much money is in the hat, case or whatever it is.

Location is the most important thing, followed by talent. In many places you have to have a licence to perform.
