    Plug the point and slope into y = mx + b

    -4 = -5(1) + b

    -4 = -5 + b

    b = 1

    y = -5x + 1

    Option B.

    The std. form of the eq. is

    y=mx+c where m is the slope and c is intercept on y axis.

    it passes through point (1, -4)

    so -4=(-5)(1)+c

    c=-4+5=1

    now the eq. becomes y= -5x+1

    is the eq. of the line.

    B

    only one answer has the slope of -5

    working-as proof

    y-(-4) = -5(x-1)

    y+4 =-5x+5

    y=-5x+5-4

    y=-5x+1
