Question about having a job?
So I just applied online to be a cashier at a local grocery store. I'm 16 and this will be my first job. A couple of my friends told me that if you want to get the job, you have to actually GO to the store and talk to the manager to show them that you are dedicated and really want the job. However, I don't want to screw this up (even if it's not an interview). What do people usually talk about when they go just to visit the manager. What should I say? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just say "hi, my name is ------ and I applied for a job online. I was just stopping in to check on the status of my application and to see if the position has been filled yet." I've done this a few times and a lot of times you can get an appointment for an interview right then and there.
