Are the real world Boeing 747-400 pilots rules as strict as the atp checkride "flying lesson" in FS2004?

The lessons in Flight Simulator are excessively strict compared to real life, and they check the wrong things. However, that's to be expected given that the checking is done by a computer rather than a human flight instructor. Human beings are better at knowing what's important and what isn't.

Even small deviations in the lessons can cause you to fail. I tried a few lessons and gave up. It just wasn't like the real thing. The simulator itself provides a pretty good simulation, but the lessons are not very useful for the reasons just stated.

Oh, and desktop flight simulators ARE used for flight training, at least in some organizations (including some military schools). They aren't useful for testing, however. They are mostly used to illustrate basic principles of flight, procedures and systems (with certain add-ons), and so on.

I myself have never passed either the ATP checkride nor the instrument checkride on that game. I am also a private pilot with an instrument rating.

Those checkrides are retarded. I like the game but those checkrides arent anywhere close to a real checkride, let alone what a real 747 pilot must know.

I wouldn`t bother with fs2004, but if you use the pmdg 747 you can get a very rouge idea for how to fly a 747. Airlines have different SOPs so the way you fly the 747 may vary

Hahahaha You have got to be kidding me..

Just because you have 6000+ hours plus in a video game, Doesn't mean you are qualified to fly the real thing..

Fs2004 'Checkrides' would be aimed at the vast majority of arm chair pilots.... And their checkrides will be very simple..

It is just a video game for entertainment purposes only.. nothing more

FS 2004 is an electronic game -

The 747 pilots do not, nor could not "fly" these -

All the FS 2004 is a vague representation of 747 controls, switches and gages -

You could not fly an actual 747 with practice acquired with such games -

As an example... do you learn crew coordination...?

Or do you know the procedures of loss of an engine before or after V1 speed...?

What are the profiles of a 2 engine-out approach and landing...?

    Have fun with your games...

If computer games were any good, airline training departments would use them -

They don't - Is that enough of an answer...?

If British airlines flies 747-400s out of PHX, then grab one. in any different case, you may could fly on a connecting interior of sight to some hub that launches worldwide flights. bear in recommendations that with the present "anti-terrorism" comedian tale club on point, it is taking months to get a passport, so initiate on that first. Then e book a flight to London or HongKong or Tokyo or Singapore. Many different cities. Your booking itemizing on Travelocity or equivalent will say what style airplane is in contact in each and every leg of the adventure. have relaxing!

MFS is a very watered down representation of what flying is actually like and/or what it actually involves

You've got it the opposite way around. Rules for real world pilots are much more strict than those in FS2004.

Flying a Boeing 747-400 in real life is a very complicated job and certainly one that needs two well trained pilots on the job at all times. FS2004 is designed to allow a relatively untrained single pilot to control the Boeing 747-400 for the duration of the flight. So to answer your question the real world rules and training for the Boeing 747-400 will be a lot more complicated and technical than anything in FS2004.
