Do minor things that get sent to a collector's agency damage your credit?

For example: a parking ticket that I haven't paid yet.

If it's send to a collection agency, it is very likely going to be reported to the credit bureaus as defaulted debt. ALL defaulted debt, not matter the amount or source, negatively impacts your credit history and score.

Parking tickets generally do not get sent to collections but a few states do. Worse of course is they can suspend the owner the vehicles license in some states, impound the car, arrest you, CR is the least of your worries
