In the honor of Thanksgiving, who are the NHL player(s) you are most thankful for?

Happy early Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a kickass one.

BQ: Thanksgiving football...unlike last year, we actually have interesting games going on. Who's going to win?

Packers vs Lions (NFC North rivals)

49ers vs Ravens (Harbaugh Brothers)

Dolphins vs Cowboys (Red State cities)

BQ2: What noun (person, place or thing) do you thank for your hockey fanaticism? Who/what caused you to have so much love for such a sport?

Update:

Detroit Kay: A Michiganite who's not a football fan? No way! What a shocker. I'm sure you will do the same when you have a kid of your own? ;P Thanks!

    Michelle,

I will go with Chris Chelios (as well) because of the turn around one nephew of mine took when he had leukemia and Mr. Chelios provided signed, hats (for a balding head), pucks, and a personalized hockey sweater that was autographed. I cannot fully attribute the turn around to Mr. Chelios but it no doubt occurred ~ this boy would then not only get caught up on his high school work but he would graduate Valedictorian and earn a scholarship to any Ivy League School in the USA as well as outstanding schools in California.

    BQ:

    a) Lions (either way a great game)

    b) NINERS! Ravens (like their Redskin cousins across Anacostia River are all hype and no real action).

    c) I'll take the Dolphins because of Reggie Bush and anytime Jerry Jones can lose is a good day.

BQ2: "Poverty" ~ hockey was simply an escape for me from many things and provided the personal work ethic I would need later in life.

All the best and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for Chris Chelios for being the player that got me hooked on Hockey to begin with. Nick Lidstrom for being an amazing Captain and the best Red Wing on the team this year, and he's 41 years old. Datsyuk for being amazing. Howard for proving me wrong (I didn't think he would be as good as he is right now). I'm pretty much thankful for All of the Red Wings except for overrated Hudler. And Dan Cleary isn't really on my good list either.

BQ* I'm not a fan of football but I will still obviously pick the Lions

BQ2* My mom who is a Die Hard fan wanted me to watch Hockey years ago....but it wasn't until like 5/6 years ago that I actually really really cared for the Sport. She is such a fan that when I was born it was the opening day of the Detroit Red Wing 1988 regular season, and she made sure she got out of the hospital so she could watch the game (Thanks Mom...glad nothing was wrong with me! lol) And as I said Chris Chelios was the first player that caught my attention, and I have been a loyal and hardcore fan ever since!

..oops Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

haha yeah it bores me. And yes I probably would do the same!

Packers better win i pretty much have a 35 dollar bottle of vodka on the line for a fantasy footbal match that pretty much comes down to this game

Ravens.. I dont like the 49ers too close to san jose!

I hope that miami wins because i hate the boys but im sure the boys will win..

BQ2* Sergiei Zubov is the player that pushed me from casual fan that didnt mind watching a game to hockey nerd

Im thankfull for the new talent brought into south Florida for the Panthers, including GM Dale Tallon. But the specific players are Kris Versteeg, Stephen Weiss, Tomas Fleishmann, and Brian Campbell.

    The whole Bruins team.

In retrospect although, I'll be thankful for Orr, my all-time favorite player, who put a new label on defensmen. We wouldn't have won as many champoinships that we did, hadn't been for him.

    BQ:

    Packers

    Ravens

    Cowboys

    Those are pretty interesting...

BQ2: My cousin, Shawn. Got me hooked. He's basically like the only person who loves hockey like I do, as I live in a house of all girls (counting my mother's boyfriend) growing up, he taught me the game.
