** THE THIEF ON THE CROSS WAS PART OF THE OLD TESTAMENT ! **

    .

We CANNOT use the thief on the cross as our excuse to sin up to the last second of our life and think we can get away with it. !

    .

    >>>>>>> Hebrews 9 : 16, 17

“For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.”

    .

“For a testament is of force after men are dead : otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

    .

What this scripture is telling us is that while Jesus was alive the Old Testament was still in force.

    .

Many might say that the thief shows we don’t need to be baptized in order to be saved. This is not true for the very reason that thief was part of the old testament ! We live in the New Testament times !

    .

While Jesus was alive He was a bridge or transition ( the testator ) to the new testament . Even though Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.___ Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the Biographies of the life of Jesus !

    .

Now, the first church was not in Rome, nor was it in Ephesus ! It was in Jerusalem ! and we must go to the book of Acts to see how the first people were saved !

    .

Romans through Jude are how to STAY saved, NOT how to get saved. Those we letters to already saved churches in the manner shown in the book of Acts 2:38 This was commissioned by Jesus in Matthew 28:19 .

    .

The scripture tell us “ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved ”, NOT he that believeth and is saved should ( or not ) be baptized. See Mark 16: 15—20

    .

( BIRTH OF THE WATER )

    .

This is why we need to baptize in the name of Jesus Christ. READ Acts 4:12

__Water Baptism is an essential part of the New Testament salvation ! _

_Water baptism can be administered only by immersion ( Col 2 : 12 ) . Note the following : Jesus mentioned being " Born ( to bring forth ) of the water " ( John 3 : 5 ) ; Paul said, " Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death ":... Romans 6:4. Jesus " Came up OUT of the water " ( Mark 1 : 10 ) ; Philip and the Eunuch " Went down INTO the water, " and " came up OUT of the water " ( Acts 8 : 38--39 ) .

Also read>>>>>__Acts 2 : 38___<<<< “ Repent and be baptized everyone one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost “ …

Galatians 3 : 27 “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”__

1 Peter 3 : 21 “The like figure where unto even baptism doth also now save us ( not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”.

submit to in concepts, they have been interior the flexibility of being saved. They gained the baptism of the Holy Ghost, then verse 40 8, mentioned that they have been baptized, finishing up the saving technique. seem at Acts, 2d. financial disaster, vs. a million-4; they have been crammed with the Holy Ghost, yet however the saving technique became into no longer totally complete till the thirty eighth. verse. Then Peter mentioned unto them, Repent, and be baptized one and all of you interior the call of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall get carry of the present of the Holy Ghost. people who gained the Holy Ghost, have been baptized. people who heard the be conscious, obeyed then observed with the aid of, with what Peter mentioned. In John, 3:3-5; different than a guy be born of water and of the Spirit, he can not enter into the dominion of God. Have a solid night.

Yes. Jesus said, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be SAVED; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16).

Jesus linked both belief and baptism together.

Well on the day the church began - when the Spirit was poured out,

the onlookers listened to Peter and asked what they should do ...

He told them to repent and be baptized. (Acts 2:38)

That was because Jesus' commission to the Apostles was to go out

and preach the gospel, and baptize the converts.

    ( Matthew 28:19 / Mark 16:15-16 )

It is an act of obedience to what Jesus said believers should do.

He is my Lord and Redeemer... I am happy to do what He wants.

    Obedience is part of salvation.

Mark 16:16, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

Believing is being obedient to the commands of Jesus and the scriptures...

If God said, "be baptized" why not be obedient to him?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

No. The thief at the right hand of the Lord on the cross did not baptize, yet he heard the blessed voice of His Savior "Today you will be with me in paradise"

Salvation is free with out any work. It is gift through the shed blood of the sinless Lamb of God "For by faith you are saved by grace and that is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast" Eph.2:8

Baptism is necessary after being Born Again

NO... Water Baptism is the demonstration of ones commitment To God.... unless one has already received God's free, and eternal, gift of Salvation... the act of Baptism is meaningless

note added.... I should have stated "water" Baptism is not a part.... Baptism by The Holy Spirit IS a part of Salvation
