A number of Christians have held professorial posts, in a range of subjects not just theology.

At least one to my knowledge (his name escapes me) held a physics chair at Cambridge, wrote a textbook on quantum mechanics and was an Anglican minister.

But then we atheists aren't ever dogmatic, are we?

I don't believe that the IQ of Christians is ALWAYS below average. I know quite a few Christians whose IQ rival some atheist's. On the other hand, it's possible that the average Christian's IQ is below most atheist's, this I wouldn't have any trouble believing or accepting...and I say this as Christian! Most Christians need to think very carefully before positing our opinions as fact and work harder at being more honest with what we believe as faith, rather than asserting those beliefs as fact. That being said, it doesn't make what we believe not true, just unprovable from a strictly scientific standpoint.

    No.

Aside from the fact that anything stated to be "always" is usually incorrect, how could Christians have "below average IQs" when they make up the majority of the population? The average IQ would trend with them, as they dominate the sample pool.

Shall we talk about the definition of average? IQ tests administered to populations sorted by religion seem to indicate some interesting things, however, like most "soft science" those results are highly questionable. If they "shopped" for their atheists at the university and "shopped" for their christians at a local church, the populations aren't equivalent and the data is invalid.

    Hello,

Well even if you don't like them, there are just too many exceptions to the rule to make this statement. For example do you hold a a PHD level degree, speak 5 languages including being able to read and write Greek and Hebrew, play the piano well and give a competent Mozart performance like Pope Benedict?

No, it is counter-productive to believe that 70% of the planet (I am including all theists) are below the average IQ. In fact, given the definition of average, it is mathematically impossible

They are just wrong on this one topic. You can be smart and be wrong

NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins obviously has a high IQ and is a Christian. He directed the human genome project.

No I do not , but according to all atheists polls and surveys on this matter which is biased at best they say yes I have read so many but they were all atheist based so that of course tilts it in their direction maybe somehow this makes them feel better to belittle those who love God I don't know ..It is an unfair judgement to say the least ..

No. I'm a genius according to my IQ level. So I'm way above average.
