Hollister vs Aeropostale vs American Eagle sizes?

Question

Im a guy and i went to the mall today and tried on stuff at hollister and I was a large t shirt. I wanted to order some aeropostale stuff online so Im wondering if I would be a large in Aeropostale stuff too?? The hollister size chart says Large is 40-42 and Aero says Medium is 40-42, Large is 43-45, and XL is 46-48. So I was thinking medium would be perfect, buuuuut when I started to look at other answers some said aero is smaller, some said bigger, and some said same as hollister. But these were a couple years old. So does anyone know what size I should recommend? I mean i used to be XL hollister but lost some weight and now a L. So im thinking XL is out for Aero just have to decide M or L. Oh and I included AE too but they have the same size chart as Aero so Im guessing it would be the same. Is shrinkage a factor? Hollister shrinks just enough for me. Thanks and please answer fast :)

ok i was only going to get one or two shirts but I really wanted to know for the jackets specifically thats the thing i really want

I don't know about men's clothing, but for women's t-shirts at Aero, I just don't buy them. They fit at first, and then when you wash them they end up being really short and weird fitting. My husband refuses to buy shirts at Aero for that reason too. I would stick with Hollister and American Eagle for good quality shirts.

EDIT: As for a polyester jacket, I would suggest you get a size bigger. Even the jackets seem to get shorter over time, even washing them in cold. It's the strangest thing. If you have a shorter torso, go with the size you normally wear, if you have a longer torso, get the bigger size.

Aero is a little bit bigger. Go with a medium.
