Computer upgrade help!?

I bought an HP p6703w from walmart and i plan on ordering a new graphics card and power supply online. My cousin said something about making sure the clock speeds or timings are compatible with my motherboard but i have no idea what i would need to look for, the graphics card i plan on getting is an "XFX Radeon HD 6870 2gb" from newegg and a "600w corsair power supply" from newegg as well. I could really use some help with this

If this is your computer*, you should be fine with those components. The graphics card and power supply replacement has nothing to do with clock speeds or timing. Those terms refer to memory.

Both the graphics card and power supply should work fine.
