When the Republicans gave up the purse strings to Democrats in January of 2007, unemployment was at 4.6%, the deficit was a fraction of what it is today, and there was no recession.

the irony is that most conservatives aren't looking out for their own interests. only a small fraction personally benefit from conservative policies. and yet despite that, they assume that since liberals look out for the poor and the unemployed, that means that we must all be poor and unemployed.

That's a long time in the future, and once they've raped our country for all it's worth the richest among them will simply leave and go somewhere else with their loot leaving behind a ruined country.
