is a colt ar-15 sporter rifle made during 75-76 a post ban or pre ban rifle?

its a single shot, .223, vietnam triangular handguard,it has a trap door at the butt of the stock to store your cleaning rods n such.we want to know if its military or civilian used rifle

    Any Colt AR15 made before 1994 would by default be classified as "Pre Ban".

    But all AR15's that I know of are semi automatic, not single shot as you say.

    That sir, would be a pre-ban rifle. The bans came later under Bill Clinton, and he solely, is to blame.

    Pre ban,the ban went from 1994-2004,Bill Clinton banned the "scary" rifles.

    Its a civilian gun.

    Since you describe it as "single shot" it sounds like you have civilian semi auto AR15. It would be considered pre-ban.

    It's a civilian rifle, but the ban wasn't for another 20 years so its very preban.
