Sewing question. How do I get appliques(?) off of jeans?
I bought these jeans at a thriftstore because I liked the fit, but they have these horrible patch things on them. Im not sure what they are called, but theyre stiched on pretty good. Is there a way to get them off? If not, could I buy fabric die to at least change the color? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Turn the jeans inside out. Can you see stitches on the back side? Can you see holes in the jeans the patches were used to cover? If yes to the first question, and no to the second you can proceed. If you do not already have a seam ripper, go to the fabric store and buy one. Under good light, carefully remove the stitching with the seam ripper. Then use tweezers to pull any stitches still hanging onto the jeans.
