Were there ever any famous pirates in The Arctic Circle?

During The Golden Age of Piracy in The New World around the time that Blackbeard the Pirate was hung off the coast of Ocracoke Island, North Carolina from about the time of 1707 to 1718, were there any famous pirates that were in The Arctic Circle where The Arctic Ocean meets The Greenland Sea? Because I know that there were Norwegian Vikings decades before The Golden Age of Piracy.

Doubtful. Pirates survived by attacking and plundering trading ships, particularly those shipping gold from the Americas to Europe. Such trading vessels kept to lower latitudes, well below the Arctic.

    No.

    Pirates were after plunder.

Plunder which was easy to gain and divest was usually mineral in form - especially gold. Most gold came from colonies in the southern hemisphere: Mexico and South America, to be precise.
