To be a working nurse what degree do you have to have Associates or Bachelors?

Both. You could have an Associates (2 year program) and be working as an RN. Bachelors is 4 years and you get a title of a BSN. But as far as Im concerned in my state, there is no difference in salary - its just a title. Unless you are going for a higher position like management, then a BSN and maybe even a masters is definately worth getting.

From government data it shows that most registered nurses (RNs) have an associates degree (64%).
29% have a bachelor's degree.
So you can definitely become an RN with either one.
All the best!
