What can we do to make ourselves worthy to stand before God?
In my last question, TLS explained to us that God can not be anything less than completely righeous. That is to say that He can not compromise and allow any sin whatsoever into His presence. So what can we do to make ourselves worthy to stand before God?
If we do enough good deeds will we be able to atone for our sins?
Is there a ritual that we must go through to have our sins removed from us?
What can we do on our own to get rid of our sins so that we can be with God?
Please address the primary question as listed at the top. The others are rhetorical, but feel free to address them too if you want.
Auntie, I noticed you didn't supply any references to back up your claim. Was there a reason for that?
Silent Assassin What is the first most evil corporation?
Chi Girl and pinkman TRYING to obey the Commandments is not good enough. Doing good works is not good enough. It only takes one sin to condemn you to Hell. TLS is absolutely correct. And as the person I have selected here as the best answer indicates there is one and only one hope for us to be with God.

Ignore the mockers who try to say that God isn't real. They are the fools here for mocking the judge that they will have to stand before when they give an account of their lives.
As far as what can WE do? Nothing. A man who is guilty of some crime can do nothing at all. Jesus said that the command of God is to believe in (put your trust in) the one whom God has sent (referring to Himself).
We receive an undeserved and unmerited pardon from God based on the vicarious death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ because of, and on behalf of our sins. We admit our guilt before God, we ask Him to forgive us, and we QUIT sinning (i.e. repent). We can not earn forgiveness any more than a bankrobber can "earn" a pardon from a judge.
God (the Judge) desires to grant each and every one of us a pardon, but wisdom demands that we be willing to admit our need (to God, not to a man), and STOP sinning, as Jesus told the prostitute, "I do not condemn you; now, go and SIN NO MORE!" God can NOT allow sin to go unpunished. If God does NOT punish sin, then heaven would quickly become as morally corrupt as earth, and infinitely more so!
Bottom line, we can do nothing to make ourselves worthy to stand before God; we can only receive grace from God when He pardons us.

The answer to your primary question lies in the answer to your rhetorical questions. Sins cannot be atoned for by good deeds, yes there is a "ritual" of sorts to go through, and we cannot do anything on our own to get rid of our sins. Ephesians 2:8 in the GOD'S WORD Translation says this: "God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God." Atoning for sins is simple. If you accept and believe in God and His son Jesus, and you confess and believe that Jesus came, died for your sins and rose again, and that He is Lord, you will be saved. That is the "ritual". Accept, Believe, Confess, and then live it. The bible says we "had nothing to do with [salvation]", because if we could save ourselves through works, we wouldn't need God. That is not to say God expects us to be perfect all the time. We are human and we will fall again, but God will be there to guide and help us.

no person is desirable, its approximately loving and acknowledging who god is and appreciating what he has completed for you. The objective is to objective and stay your existence in the main righteous way achieveable. i don't rigidity my ideals on others, I additionally can not declare to be desirable. you could repent, and repenting potential acknowledging that youve completed incorrect, and asking for forgiveness, and you'd be forgiven. yet you could not make an apology for the comparable incorrect persistently lower back with the aid of fact your not being serious relating to the incorrect youve did. we are right here to study from our errors in existence and to income a extra advantageous outlook on how issues ought to truly be, in different words understanding. as long as you hold christ on your heart, issues gets much less complicated, and you will start to make certain the previous behavior slowly leave from you on condition which you enable god by using christ who strengthens you coach you the way... Its stated as replace. :)

No. Since we are sinful, all of our rituals and works are nasty. I can't offer them to God. That would be like making the President a nice sandwhich with bread that was tainted with feces. Given the nastiness of the ingredients, I could never make a meal worthy for the President. If I tried, they would probably arrest me and put me in jail.
The only way we can be made worthy to stand before God is by God's grace. Only God can save us. We can't save ourselves.

In the bible, God has committed sins that would send men to hell three times over. I guess its a case of do as I say, not as I do.

We can not do anything in and of ourselves to make us worthy.
All we can do is depend on what God has done for us --
namely depend on salvation through the grace that God offered to us by means of a Savior/Intercessor.

The ridiculous requirements God sets out for his creation (in their convoluted and illogical form such as they are) in all different religions are as true an indication as any that religions are a complete load of man made rubbish.

but we aren't worthy. We humble ourselves before Him. Crawl to Him on our stomachs to kiss His feet.
