What's going to happen to my PC when I reactivate my outlook express Roadrunner email acct after 15 months?

About 15 months ago my PC froze up and I ended up using "system restore" to get it working again. In the process I lost whatever settings were necessary to access my outlook express email account from WI RoadRunner. Because most of my mail had been coming to a Yahoo account I wasn't in a hurry to get OE running again, plus I couldn't find the disk. Now I've found the disk and I'm ready to reactivate OE and I wonder if 15 months worth of emails is going to crash my computer when they start pouring in. Are there any safeguards in the system to prevent a crash? Is there any certain procedure I should follow to reduce the risk of problems developing from having so many emails at once? Thanks for your help.

That many e-mails will not crash anything, but it might slow down your internet connection a bit while all e-mails are being downloaded to your computer, depending on the speed of your internet connection and the total size of all these e-mails.
