Surely, there has to be some semblence of fiscal sanity somewhere among the far-right-wing GOP and the even farther-right-wing teabagging evangelical extremists! Are there any moderates who remain within this deficit-mushrooming fiscally-ILLITERATE Republican party?? Yertle-the-Turtle Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is himself a multi-millionaire who is from a very poor state where the unemployment rate is much higher than our national average, yet he has FILIBUSTERED every single nation-saving economy-strengthening jobs bill, tax-cuts bill, or any other GOP-caused Great Recession reversing bill emanating from the Obama administration! To what end? According to turtle-faced McConnell, the end being sought is to stick it Barack Obama even if this bad behavior and poor priority-setting leads to the devastation of a nation!!! Shame on you, Republicans and TeaP'ers!

Consumer spending is needed to help UNSHRINK the Bush/Cheney/GOP-caused economy, and what better way to make sure there is consumer spending than to make sure each working American has an additional $100 or so each month in take-home pay? We already have learned the hard way that the Republicans' unpaid-for tax cuts for the wealthiest corporations coupled with DEREGULATION does NOT create jobs at all (see PBS's "Frontline: Inside The Meltdown" and C-SPAN2's Senate Hearings featuring former Fed Chair Alan Greenspan after the housing/credit markets' devastating collapse plus the 2007-2008 FINANCIAL SYSTEM MELTDOWN), but that Recovery Act ("stimulus") dollars from the Obama team and the Democrats that benefit small businesses and the "99%'ers" of regular Americans DOES CREATE JOBS, so I'm with you---why would the Republicans and TeaP'ers in both the House and Senate not just LEAP at the chance to strengthen this economy with the Obama-requested extension of the middle-class and small-business tax cuts (see the American JOBS Act at whitehouse.gov or at ReadTheBill.org)? Answer: They are more interested in playing "king of the Hill" political oneupsmanship than in helping the people who put them into office!

Republicans are not working "fervently" to squelch middle class payroll tax breaks. That is typical liberal spin, aka lies. The "tax break" Obama wants is a reduction in Social Security tax, to be replaced from the general fund. While whining about social security becoming insolvent, liberals want to cut a significant source of revenue for that program. Republicans are in favor of the "tax cut" if spending reductions of equal amount are enacted. Liberals just don't seem to understand individuals or government cannot continue spending money they don't have, or continue borrowing money they can't repay. We have a spending problem, not a tax problem.

No, they will continue to expose their real agenda of artificial wealth redistribution.
