They want to sell Horse-meat for People to eat in the US?
I just heard that they want to sell horse-meat for people to eat in the grocery stores in the US. What a wild thing to do in a country that is ruled by the constellation Sagittarius. Yuck!!

It is disheartening to see so many who have no idea what the situation is.
No we, in the US, are not going to eat horse meat.
What happened was that Obama's extension allowed the meat inspectors to work in a plant that butchers horses for the sale of the meat to be exported to countries who eat horse meat.
This is a horrible issue as we, in the US, pump chemicals into our horses therefore contaminating the meat that the Europeans are eating. We use de-wormer on them which it clearly states on the packaging not to be used on animals intended for human consumption.
The US does not raise horses for human consumption and so there is not a need for slaughter plants here. The issue is over breeding and people in the US stating they have a right to have someone PAY THEM to have them take their overstock or unwanted animals. We are very greedy people in the US who will not pay for the disposal of our horses.
I say make everyone who wants to send their stock to the butcher have to pay a minimum of $100 a head.

I cannot believe that they are. A lot of those horses have had bute (a common pain killer for horses), and that stays in the horse's meat and tissue. And from research, that is a really bad thing to eat, especially for children. Even one meal of contaminated meat can make the child form aplastic anemia, which is a bone marrow disease. So a lot of kids will be getting sick if they do do that.

I don't get how that would work seeing as horses are not farmed in the US for meat like cattle and sheep are, unless they are farmed you have no idea if the meat is even edible, especially if the horse has been treated with things like bute prior to slaughter as that would render the meat poison.
So is the US now going to see horse meat farms springing up alongside farms that breed cattle, sheep, pigs etc for meat? Is the US trying to be France?
