Is it possible to get a negative outcome on a pregnancy test if u take it before your missed period?

I took a pregnancy test before my missed period because me and my fiance are really trying to have a baby..the test came out negative,that was two weeks ago......but now my period is two days late and i have all the symptoms of pregnancy....my question is...could the pregnancy test have come out negative because i took it before my missed period

    You took the test way, way, way too early, so of course you were going to get a negative---you weren't pregnant YET when you took it. Whether you are or aren't pregnant now, you will get a much more accurate result today.

    The earliest I have ever heard of anyone getting a positive was 9 days past ovulation. You tested approximately 2 days past. Not even a blood test could tell you that early.

    You did test way too early. Most of the home pregnancy test have indicators which can react only to the certain amount of hormones, and that amount is present no sooner then when your period is due. So, only now, after you have missed your period, it would be good to take the test.
