What will the Leveson Enquiry accomplish?
In the UK we're hearing new evidence being given to the Leveson Enquiry every day about how corrupt and immoral the British press have been over the last few years.
It's good to see these abominable practices exposed for the sleaze that they are, but I'm wondering- what will the Leveson enquiry actually accomplish? What powers do this enquiry or the Government actually have to make the British press better and more accountable, without crossing the line into the prevention of free speech? What will actually be changed? Anything?

What is most likely to happen is the PCC (press complaints commission), who are currently responsible for the self mediation of the press, will be abolished or re-branded by the enquiry in an attempt to refresh the integrity and moral practice of the press, without inhibiting our free speech :)

It will accomplish nothing except to purge current public disgust at the antics of the press. By the time the inquiry report is published in 2 or more years ahead, some new disaster will have long replaced the press furore
